Everything You Need to Know About the Google Pixel 3 & 3 XL

With all the controversy around the much-awaited phones, Google has finally launched their two new phones – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. It is worth to give the title – “The Controversial Pixel” to these phones, as no other phones in the history of Google's Pixel lineup, deserves this title. We can also say that it is one of the world’s most leaked smartphones which is now finally in the hand of users. Well, as we all know many things about these two phones, but still they also pack several surprises which Google didn’t mention during the launching event of these two phones.

So, here is everything you need to know in detail about the differences between the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL as well as how they have improved upon the previous phones - Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL of Google Company.

Important Date

The new Google Pixel 3 along with Pixel 3 XL was announced on October 9, 2018, at Google's Made by Google Launch Event. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL is now being available for preorder starting on October 9th from Google and Verizon Wireless, its exclusive US partner. Both the phones are officially released to the public on October 18th, 2018.

Storage Capacity

Both the phone - Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are coming in two storage variants: 64 GB and 128 GB. Similar to its predecessor, they don’t have expandable storage, but will give users unlimited cloud storage of all photos and videos when stored on Google Photos.

The price of new Pixel 3 is $799 for the 64 GB model, and raise to $899 for the 128 GB variant.

Body

The body of new Pixel 3 is very similar to previous year's Pixel 2 phone. Once again the Pixel 3 phone is coming with an aluminum body with a hybrid coating. For protection purpose, both the front and back use Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is available in three colors: Clearly White, Just Black, and Not Pink.

Whereas, in Pixel 3 XL, the rear panel is now 100% glass instead of metal with a glass window at the top. Even in this, the Pixel 3 XL will use an aluminum frame with a hybrid coating. As for colors, there will be the similar options as in Pixel 3: Clearly White, Just Black, and Not Pink.

Battery

The battery of Pixel 3 received a slight increase from 2,700 mAh to 2,915 mAh. But, the battery in Pixel 3 XL is actually smaller to last year's Pixel 2 XL at 3,450 mAh. For the very first time, both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL phones will finally support wireless charging. Google announced a new charging pad that offers 10 W of wireless charging power and activates a new menu that turns your Pixel 3 into a mini Google Home Hub.
